Well, it's more funny when I am in front of you because yo can see my serious face and also when I am imitating the students.
It was the first time I was teaching harmonica in another language than French and the guys were (and still are) good players, so I was a bit stressed, I did not know, also, the English lang. as well as I know it nowadays.
The class was about being expressive on your harmonica, here, what I said (more or less):
" Well folks, you're all harmonica players. You have different level of playing and different influence, meanwhile you all play blues music. And I am pretty sure that you get it on cross harp! Some of you may alos play double-cross harp, but like 90% of the blues harmonica players, you like 2nd position.
Well! Why! because it is the most expressive! You think!
But blues harmonica is not only a draw work! You can also provide a lot of very expressive blow jobs!"
Then, the student starred at me.
I thought: " They don't think I am right" and I said:
" Yes! Yes folks! You can get and be very expressive with a blow job with your harmonica. Look at Howard Levy: his mastering makes him giving a lot of expression and feeling during a blow job as well as during a draw job..."
At that time, I was meaning blowing work, and I had found in the dictionnary that Job was like Work.
It is just when one the guy stopped me, smiling and laughing, and explained to me what I had said was meaning in slang!! I think I have never been so uncomfortable before that moment!
But now, I am laughing at it, because I figure what the guys thought: they were expecting to talk about harmonica and suddenly, that french young guy starts to talk about b* J*... with harmonica!!!
Hope you will like the story,
Froggy

Froggy,
I'd like to hear the rest of the story, and I'm sure others would too.
Do you really want to be inundated with requests off-line?
Perhaps if you used "spelling euphemisms" like - - f**k or pu**y, noone would be offended.

Yeah, but beware! I understood, with the recent stuff, that there are some word to not say on Harp-L.
So, I can't definitly not relate my first time as harmonica teacher speaking in english. The fact is that I am french (nobody's perfect!) and I say some mistakes when I speak english.
That time, I was talking about harmonica and nothing related about sex neither than something uncorrect was going to be said, but,...Anyway,
Ask me offlist, then, to know the end!
I was thinking to relate it, but the last events advise me to not.
Keep on Blowing!

As pertains to harp in general,,
Sometimes it's "clean",,,
and sometimes it gets dirty.>>>>>
Thank goodness we're back on tone and amps again! #;-)
